FAQ

Prices read from pools get pumped. Why is this different?

Mango Markets in 2022 read one thin market's price as it stood. JIKA takes the depth-weighted median of every pool a token trades in, counts only depth that stayed, and serves a steady price that follows only the least extreme of the last three 10-second windows. On a real thin token, a 20% spike across every pool, sold back in one transaction, cost 11.49 SOL and moved the JIKA price 0.00%. The band jumped to 22.36%, so a lender with a 3% limit refused it.

Can a patient attacker walk the price?

Yes, if nobody refreshes it. Spiking every 10 seconds walked TERMINAL's price up 20.27% in 260 seconds for 241.51 SOL. With a keeper refreshing once every 10 seconds, 60 spikes over 624 seconds moved it 0.00%; only holding the whole market works then, which costs about 24,230 SOL for 20% (an estimate). Run a keeper if money depends on a feed.

What if nobody refreshes a price for an hour?

read returns the slot the price was computed in and fails with Stale past the age you allow. Anyone can refresh a price at any time.

What happens with a token that has one tiny pool?

The band always includes how far a 1 SOL trade would move the token. A live pump.fun curve with 0.68 SOL of confirmed depth read at plus or minus 6.05%. For the thinnest tokens the band is so wide that it says: not known yet.

Why not Pyth?

Pyth prices the assets its publishers choose to price. JIKA prices any token with a pool, the moment a pool exists, with nobody to apply to. Majors can keep reading Pyth; the long tail reads JIKA. JIKA does not take Pyth as an input: that would put a publisher back in.

Who controls it?

The program has no admin instruction and no config account. Anyone can create a feed or add a pool. A new kind of DEX ships as a new program version. The recommended upgrade path is a multisig during a short probation, then immutable.

Which DEXs does it read?

Orca Whirlpool, Raydium CLMM, Raydium CPMM, Raydium AMM v4, Meteora DLMM, the pump.fun bonding curve and PumpSwap, paired against wSOL or USDC.

Is there a token?

No.

Is it live?

The program is built and tested against the real mainnet DEX programs and pool snapshots, and runs on a local validator. It is not deployed to devnet or mainnet yet, and it has no external audit yet.

How fast does a real move show up?

The spot and the band move at once. The steady price follows after its three-bucket window fills (up to 30 seconds), then at most 0.77% per 10 seconds; a real 50% crash takes about 15 minutes to reach it. A lender should watch the band, not only the steady price.
